Channel Cut

Optics for X Ray Fluoresence Diffraction - WDXRD

Channel Cut and Bartel’s Pairs

A Channel cut is used in XRD to strictly monochromatize the X ray beam towards the sample in a diffraction set up.

A pair of Channel cuts, so called Bartel’s pair, are used for High Resolution XRD, SAXS and WAXS.

As a high resolution is required, for example to separate Alpha and K beta peaks, usually, high quality Ge(hkl) material with EPD=0 dislocations is preferred to optimize the monochromatic beam, and get the best possible intensity.

The lattice orientation depends on the X Ray source.

AlpyX is applying proprietary knowledges to develop high precision process and controls that keep the integrity of the lattice of the single crystal.
